Here are my last Big Stones, soon I'm going to paint more.
I painted the stones with acrylic paints and I used a transparent enamel paint for the top in order to protect the artwork.
I'm really enjoying this new paintable surface, it looks very magical and makes me fly my imagination.
I encourage you to paint stones and adding some magic to some corners of your home.
Dear followers, sorry for my absence but I was on holidays. They have been a great holidays, Sun, beach, good food... what else could you ask for?
Now I have come back full of energy and with new things in my mind. This weekend I'm in People's Art Exhibition, so if you are in Dublin and you like art, this is your place for a walk.
In a few days I'm going to show you some Halloween stuff, I hope you like it.
For the moment, I leave this wonderful video in order you can enjoy the same as I did.
A watercolor is the medium or the resulting artwork in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-soluble vehicle. The traditional and most common support for watercolor paintings is paper.
My mom bought me my first watercolors in my childhood. At first, I didn't realize its properties and beauty, it was just another way to have fun.
As a teenager, I discovered its beauty through comics and illustrations. As soon as I studied Arts, I had the opportunity to learn how use watercolours and instantly felt the beginning of a special relationship.
Transparency, symbiosis with paper and kindness in the application are the things most I like.
If you are thinking to start working with watercolours, I advise you to practice a lot to get some spectacular results. Play with watercolours in order to understand how paint flow works, mix colours to enjoy the transparency of this kind of paint.
It can help you to start with the backgrounds and finish with the foreground elements. Some people prefer to paint with a negative technique, others start with the light shapes and ends with dark ones. There are a lot of things you can consider. As an aid for beginners, I bring to my blog this video by MyPetiteCakes YouTube because it's a short but useful video where you can learn some important things about watercolours.
I hope you enjoy it!
This commission was ordered one year ago. I didn't write a post earlier because it was for a birthday and I didn't want anyone to see the work before Juan Carlos. After that I felt in my wrists problems.
I'm now retaking all my tasks, post, etc. So... let me explain you this commission!
This special birthday card arises from other card I did before for a friend, Marta. It's the same idea but each card refers to the tastes of each person. Conchi, Juan Carlos' wife, saw Marta's card in my website and she thought it suits perfect for Juan Carlos' present.
She told me about the important things in Juan Carlos' life: his son and daughter, his work, the sea, and of course his wife.
I did a draft and she was excited about it. I painted the special birthday card and I sent her in order to all their family were be able to sign it. As result Juan Carlos got a lovely keepsake signed by the whole family.
This was a very special Birthday Card. The occasion was special and deserved it. It was Marta's 40th Birthday and she wanted to throw a big party making clear she still likes whisky and rock & roll.
Afterwards, friends were signing the card as a reminder.
People, animals and plants shed life in different ways. But today I want to focus in a particular way and in a particular person. She sheds life on others lifes, she cares of the world surround her.
